The Office of Internal Audits is now the Duke Office of Audit, Risk and Compliance (OARC)
Internal auditing is an independent appraisal activity established within Duke University and Duke Medicine to examine and evaluate their activities. The objectives of internal auditing are to assist members of the organization in the analyses, appraisals, recommendations, counsel and information concerning the activities reviewed and by promoting effective control at reasonable cost.
Additionally, the Office of Internal Audits encourages personal enrichment through such practices as sharing trade articles of interest with the Duke community and by contributing to the content of continuing professional education seminars which are offered several times each year.
