ICARE
The Duke University Office of Internal Audits adheres to the highest professional standards while performing the audits in order to achieve the mission it has set out to accomplish. In order to add value and assist management in achieving University objectives the Office of Internal Audits developed certain principles/guidelines to be adhered by the Internal Audit staff while performing any Internal Audit function. These principles referred to as ICARE are:
- Integrity/Honesty/Trust/Open Communication
- Client Orientation/Cooperation
- Achievement/Commitment/Results Oriented
- Respect/Fairness/Caring/Kindness/Credit Where Due
- Excellence - Striving for It/Accuracy/Quality
It is the duty and responsibility of every member of the Internal Audit team to abide by these principles while performing any Internal Audit function.
